Hello! My name is Becky Lightcap, and I am a member of the piano faculty at Apple Tree Arts. With a lifetime of piano teaching and singing experience and 20 years in early childhood settings, I love working with beginning and intermediate piano students of all ages.

It’s exciting to learn what makes my students tick, so I like to begin with a meeting that helps me understand each student’s unique experience, interests, and goals.
Part of the creative process of teaching is to get to know every student as an individual and to adjust my teaching to meet their needs. If one of your needs is an interest in learning online, I’m totally open to that option!

Ultimately my goal is to help you reach your musical goals. I recently spent 4 years teaching music in Montessori schools. The Montessori setting taught me that practice makes progress, and there is usually more than one way to reach a desired outcome. I’m here to help students develop an appreciation for music, both for personal enjoyment and to enhance learning through listening in all areas of life.
